Kyoto party and Elementary school visit

By Derek, Elise, Maria, Steph and Aly

hello everyone, this is derek. last night we had this party at a convention center. this party included food, singing, and contests. the food was delicious seeing as there was some american food (mcdonalds). the contests were soda chugging and whatnot. kathryn won the contest involving chugging. after that, everyone went home to their respective families. this morning everyone was talking about how rich their families were. later this morning, we went to an elementary school. japanese tots are so high pitched and abrasive with their stereo-like screaming. the school was bigger and 10x better than memorial. hard wood floors were everywhere and i believe it was 3 stories, don't quote me on that. right now we are on a train heading to osaka. its really humid and hot. I'm feeling sick to my stomach and all the guys were talking about doing anything for a juicy bratwurst or pepperoni pizza. my fingers hurt. see you mom and dad in 3 weeks. miss you.

elise here. matt had been giving me crap for liking ... okay being obsessed with rurouni kenshin (an anime) and so when i got to my host family my onii-san had set out all his kenshin manga for me to read. yay! elise

Hi. Maria here. My new host family is insanely rich, but speaks NO English. None. Japanese classrooms are really noisy, and the kids love "heads up 7 up" and "pictionary." Japan is really hot. I lose abirity to speechie good Engrish. The end.

steph here now. last night we had a party with all of the kyoto host families. when we went home, i was terrified because the mother drove crazily, and the roads are so small. i found that their house is very very large. i got really lonely last night, missing my last host family. they were so sweet, i really miss them. this host family is nice, too, but it is hard to understand them, because they speak no english. that and they use a bit too complex japanese. but, we managed to have a good talk yesterday. so far kyoto is very pretty. now we are on the train to osaka. it is supposed to be very hot today. i do like the humidity here, though. steph

hi this is aly. my host family is really nice, and they live next door to frances' host family. last night i went to frances' house for dinner. we had curry. then this morning we went running. my host parents are in their mid thirties and they have a 6 year old and a 1 year old. they are both boys. the 5 year old, tokio, follows me around everywhere. tonight we are going to try on kimono and do karaoke. it should be a lot of fun. and i love print club!
