fran: yesterday, we traveled to tokyo from hiroshima. the trip on the shinkansen was long but not too boring because most of the people just caught up on sleep. we arrived and went to a cool fish market street with lots of other shops right next to raw fish booths! i bought a five dollar pair of shoes. then we went to asakusa, a good place to buy souveniers. then we went to a business district that sold plastic food for restaurants, the plastic food was really expensive.
our capsule hotel was roomier than i expected, but it still was small. we had a dinner party and it was so much fun. we met Nagai-sensei's "brother" and "sister". they were both really nice, we all ate so much food! on this whole trip i don't think that i've been that full. afterward we did karaoke with our new ii-tomodachi (good friends) yoko and koji. we got free ice cream at karaoke! japan is so much fun, it will be lonely when the group splits up. we're on a train and kathy is sleeping and drooling all over her backpack!
tong here now. yea, that was kinda funny. well last night at the capsule hotel i kicked derek's butt at arm wrestling. the capsule hotel rooms that we stayed in was small! well for me it was small, because i'm used to a big room and big bed. what the capsule hotel basically is, is one room enough for the average japanese businessman to sleep one night when he far away from home. on our floor, the 7th floor consists of about 30 individual capsules, public toilet, and public sinks. matt, andy, and i went out into this porch-like thing at night and screamed. that was fun. well i would talk more but matt wants to make fun of frances so i'm gonna pass it to him.
