This trip to Japan will always be unforgettable. I learned so much about a culture completely different from anything I’ve experienced in the United States. The set-up of the trip was wonderful; staying with host families and as a class gave us many perspectives of the country. The group activities were fun because we all got to get to know each other better but it was also nice when we had freedom to experience Japan on our own. It was a great way to test independence and see what we can actually do by ourselves without adult supervision all the time.

The country itself is beautiful; the amount of tradition displayed by the temples and shrines in various locations are stunning. The host families were amazingly nice and would go out of their way to do anything for us. Karaoke is something everyone should experience while in Japan, and print club! This trip has inspired me to keep studying japanese, to keep traveling, and to go back to japan whenever I get the chance.
