Showa Hostfamily

By Allison, James and Katie

Today we went back to Showa and spent Saturday with our first host family.

Allison says that she had fun the last couple of days and that she has too much crap. The japanese bath was fun but she was kinda woozy and had to lie down. She slept alot. In the car. Before the bath she went to shogun cemetary [Nikko]. That was cool to see a 400 year old place with well preserved walls and things.

James: Yesterday I had a full day with the Hiromatsu family. First we went to a Napoleon exibit at the museum. I couldn't read the posters but I enjoyed viewing the artwork. Next we saw the Death Note movie. I have read the manga, so I was excited. It was all in Japanese, but with my manga knowledge, I could follow easily. It was a great movie. Good casting and some really nice camera work. We had dinner at a chinese place and I finished the evening with karaoke with my fellow gaijin.

Katie- I finally got to sleep in! Woke up around 9:30, bummed around the house with my family, watched TV with them, then headed out shopping. We went a couple places, and then got some Italian food for lunch. Next we hit up the karaoke place. I was super-excited cuz they had Franz Ferdinand and the Chili Peppers! Two hours later, we left and headed to a book and cd store. The cds were discounted pretty well, so I ended up buying 9 for about $25. After that we just ate supper and I went to bed.
