Kyoto Free Day

Taylr: So yesterday we had all day to do whatever we wanted in Kyoto. Heather, Libby and I decided to go to the Golden Temple, which was really beautiful. Afterwards we did some walking around and then had some "bus issues" while trying to find some other temple. I forgot what it was called, but I wasn't interested in checking it out as it cost six dollars and we weren't even allowed to take pictures.

Afterwards, we went back to central Kyoto and hit up the bookstore for a bit, got bored, and then decided to go do some karaoke, which was, as always, pretty entertaining.

And after some Shinkansen action and one of the most gruesome walks of my life, we're at the hostel in Hiroshima.

Evan Green: I went to the rock garden with Mac and Zach. There were a couple of paths that you could take round the temple that were into the woods. We followed one to the main rock building. There was a nice rock garden that had like a little seating area to look at it from. There were many people watching it from there. It was very calming there. We walked around the building and saw a guy meditating there. The rock garden looks like a big area filled with rocks but all the rocks were in perfectly spaced rows.
