Last day in Japan

Well, Japan gave us a fond farewell present at about 1:00 this morning: an earthquake. Boy I'm going to miss it here.

This place is awesome. I love it. I'm gonna study Japanese in college, I don't care how busy I'm going to be next year. On a side note, yesterday my host family had company over and had me eat umeboshi (pickled plum) in front of the video camera. How's that for an afternoon's entertainment, watch the gai-jin eat nasty Japanese food. Just kidding. They were good people. Gonna miss this place.

Seeing Japan again with students has been a great experience. Remember the in-jokes and the camaraderie - you never know when you'll find that kind of interaction again!

This has been the best group of people to travel with. You made my job soooo easy: there were (by the skin of our teeth) no missed trains, lost passports, destroyed rail passes, missed curfews or rules violations. And I really enjoyed all our mina-san time! Thanks everyone, and of course thanks to my wife who made it possible :)
