Benwitz sensei's hostfamily party |
By Maria, Aly and Elise
Mwahahaha! I have the digidiary again! Well, things are kickin' pretty good. The past days have prolly been my favorite, since my Yokohama host family seemed the most down to earth...at least they seemed like a usual family back home. We went to Chinatown in the city, and that was the best. They had a Bruce Lee store, literally, and anyone who knows me well knows how much I dig Bruce Lee. I didn't buy much, unfortunately, since there was so much stuff and we were in kind of a rush. Right know I just hope my hostfamily didn't think of me as too much of a pain. OK...I'm done.
aly: i loved my yokohama host family!!! my host sisters sai and mae took me shopping and we did printclub. it was actually way more fun than i thought it would be. i even got my own print club book. yesterday my host mom and dad took me to the yokohama bay area and to chinatown. we rode bikes around and then had lunch. interesting things were that the bikes folded in half to conserve space in the car, and my host mom and dad bought us 7 dishes for lunch and gave most of them to me to eat. it was so good and i got really full. last night we had sushi for dinner, and i ate raw salmon, shrimp, tuna, mackerel, and octopus, yummy. now I'm excited to meet my kyoto host family, which has a five year old boy and 11 month old girl.
Hi. My name is Maria. I am from Eau Claire, WI ... Ok so I had to give a speech in front of a ton of teachers at a Yokohama high school. It was ... interesting. Apart from that, I loved Yokohama. My host sister, Manami, is already like another sister, she is so adorable and she loves me. Come to think of it, everyone loves us. When I walked into my Manami's classroom, I was greeted by about fifteen screaming Japanese girls and a bunch of boys looking at me and giggling. Manami is in kendo, which is extraordinarily cool. I ended up taking a bunch of pictures with her friends. We went to a really cool aquarium (and ran into Lauren), and spent a lot of time collecting shells. That night we set off fireworks. This morning we went to the harbor, toured a boat, and walked through China Town, which smelled really good. Anyway, we're getting off of the Bullet Train in 5, so TTYL. Yes, we saw Mt. Fuji.
