Kyoto: Meditation and Kiyomizu-temple

By Matt, Jake and Jemmy

Matt: The temple, monk, and the whole meditation thing were really fun. The meditation is hard to do because I can't sit still for 30 minutes. After the meditation we did a quicker version of the Tea Ceremony and asked the monk some questions. He was one cool dude.

Tuura- There was a sweet pond at the Nanzenji temple. There were some great phtographic opportunties, which we optimized upon. It was a pretty hot day, and we found a sweet tube with water flowing in it (Kyoto's aquaduct). Jarrod and I wanted to jump in really bad. Next to the water tube there was a solid 40 foot drop and a two and a half foot walkway.

Jemmy- The meditation process is amazing! i don't know how the priests do it. specifically, the priest (monk) we met yesterday was great and friendly.

We did self-navigation in Kyoto! We looked at the map and asked the directions from Nanzen-temple to Kyomizu-temple. The bus system in kyoto is a bit comfusing. Plus it was humid. We walked around a lot,too.. We finally got to Kyomizu-temple.

Matt: We had to find our way to a bus station and get to the Kiyomizu Michi, a road that leads to the temple. It was a little hard to find the bus stop because we weren't sure what they looked like or where to go. Eventually we finally found one. The temple was amazing, the view was the best. I got in line and eventually was able to drink the water. It's supposed to make our body healthy, plus it was really refreshing.
