First night with host family

By Chris and Jemmy

Chris is doing superbly well. Last night, after riding various modes of transport for what seemed like an eternity, we arrived in Showa! We excited the train and soon were greeted by smiling japanese families. Eventually I found my host father, Nao-san, and we were off. We rode in his car, down an incredibly complex series of roads and alleys, and arrived at the Deguchi-family house. I'll try not to ramble. The rest of the night was spent communicating in broken Japanese and enjoying a cup of tea. I went to bed completely enthralled by my surroundings. This morning, after a failed attempt at bathing, I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast of omelette, toast, summer orange, tea, yogurt, and something that looked like grape jello. I'm excited to eat natto, I cant wait to continue speaking Japanese. This place is awesome.

Jemmy did alright too :) My host family was already waiting for me at the train station. My host brother and sister are adorable, and my host father & mother are very nice!! the traditional japanese breakfast was great too: rice, natto, sakana, miso soup! GREAAAAAT :D
