DAY 3 (June 12): Elementary School

Teaching English

Larry and Jay in 6th grader's class

Elemetary School

By Drew and Sarah

Today we are visiting an elementary school in Showa-town.

Drew - first hour I learned English with 3rd graders... very interesting. They were pretty good, too. All of the kids are so interesting. My group was fascinated with my necklace and watch. "okane da?" Second hour we did calligraphy with 6th graders. I'm not very good at those sorts of things. Anna and Bryan did very well, though. Then again, Anna is an artist.

Sarah-the elementary school was really fun. the kids were so cute and they went nuts over the candy. my favorite was the 6th grade class. we played a color tag game, a detective game, and a game that was like musical chairs but we had to put tape on our faces. some little girls were trying to jump up to my height. they thought it was cool that i am so tall. some girls gave anna and i origami and taught us to make one. my host family made pasta and pizza for dinner and we watched a makeover show on tv. it is very hot, but Japan is fun.
